Nov. 17th 2011 - Leaving for the Antarctic

Hi everyone. Today I am leaving for the Antarctic Peninsula to continue my research with penguins. I will be working on a small sailing ship (~50 ft) and will visit many penguin colonies to collect feather and eggshell samples for dietary and genetic analysis.

Unfortunately, I will not have email access while in Antarctica and will not be able to post updates from the field as in past seasons. However, I will be sure to post more pictures and video when I return in January. Check back then!
